Annelies Aerts
Annelies graduated as a primary education teacher in 2004 and also taught primary education for the next 6 years. In 2009 she obtained her master's degree in Training and Education Sciences. Since January 2014, Annelies Aerts has been working as a teacher trainer, internship coordinator and researcher in AP's nursery and primary education teacher training programmes.
Joos Vollebregt
Teacher trainer for secondary education in Dutch and English at AP Hogeschool. He is responsible for both the subject-related and the didactic aspects. He developed into an advisor for combined education and e-learning, in which role he helps shape the development of blended trajectories for the various course units and supports fellow lecturers in the conversion of their course units to combined education.
Ann-Marie Young
Academic Director of School Placement in the School of Education at the University of Limerick. Her research interests concern Initial teacher Education with a focus on the development of the school placement process, specifically looking at the role each of the key stakeholders play in the development of student-teachers and the development of a structured and formal approach to supervision in school placement.
Orla McCormack
Senior Lecturer in Education in the School of Education at University of Limerick. Her main teaching interests relate to Curriculum Policy and Reform, which she teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Orla’s research and teaching interests focus on curriculum, particularly teachers’ involvement in curriculum reform. Other research interests focus on curriculum issues, pre-service education and reflective practice.
Dr Joanne O’Flaherty
PhD, (BSc) Physical Education, is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Education, University of Limerick. Joanne qualified as a Physical Education and English teacher and worked in a variety of educational settings, including the formal post-primary sector and the NGO sector, before joining the UL faculty. She is involved in coordinating and disseminating different education modules offered by the School of Education at both undergraduate and post-graduate level.
Rachel Lenihan
Lecturer in Teaching, Learning and Assessment in the School of Education at University of Limerick. She teaches on Initial Teacher Education programmes at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels and is Course Director for the Diploma in Drug and Alcohol Studies. Before joining the team in UL in 2022, she was a post primary teacher of English and History for 17 years. She worked as a School Placement Development Officer in the Department of Education and Professional Studies in UL in 2015-2016, supporting undergraduate students while on school placement and developing links between schools and the university.
